Associate, Social Media Marketing (Internship)

Role Overview

The Associate of Social Media Marketing is tasked with supporting the Digital Marketing team in growing Mitsubishi Power’s social media presence through content creation, graphic design, platform optimization, community engagement, event coverage, and performance reporting. The Intern will contribute to recruiting, thought leadership, corporate brand, and culture-focused marketing initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in B2B digital marketing and communications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create engaging social media content that highlights Mitsubishi Power’s people, culture, technologies, projects, and industry leadership across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Design social media graphics, campaign visuals, templates, thumbnails, and other digital assets that align with brand guidelines and platform best practices
  • Support recruiting and employee storytelling initiatives through content planning, copywriting, graphic design, campaign execution, and event promotion
  • Write social media copy, captions, and content concepts that pair strong messaging with clean, engaging visual direction
  • Help translate complex energy, engineering, and technology topics into accessible content through graphics, short-form video, visual storytelling, and platform-specific creative
  • Capture and edit photo and video content for company events, employee activities, recruiting initiatives, and culture-focused campaigns, with occasional travel as needed
  • Monitor social media conversations, engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and help foster a positive, active community around the brand
  • Assist with campaign reporting, performance analysis, content audits, and recommendations to improve engagement, visual performance, and audience growth

  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing, or using it for the benefit of third parties
  • Maintain a high degree of honesty and integrity at all times

Knowledge, Skills, and Education

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, Advertising, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Public Relations, or another related field at a four-year accredited college or university
  • Junior- or senior-level student preferred
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content for digital channels
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business communications, industry publications, and marketing materials
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and present information to team members, stakeholders, and external audiences
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, Canva, social media platforms, content management tools, video editing software, and digital marketing analytics tools
  • Experience with social media publishing and reporting platforms preferred
  • Ability to capture compelling photo and video content using professional camera equipment to support social media storytelling, brand awareness, and engagement goals
  • Demonstrates responsible use of approved AI tools to support content ideation, creative development, and social media planning while maintaining original thinking, an authentic brand voice, and sound editorial judgment
