General Summary:
 

The Associate Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth through new markets, out-of-APR business, and emerging opportunities. This role combines people leadership with strategic business development, focused on identifying, prioritizing, and scaling new revenue streams.

This position leads a team of Account Managers responsible for business development efforts and smaller-package opportunities, while partnering closely with sales leadership, engineering, and key vendors to support market expansion and long-term growth initiatives. This role does not carry traditional account ownership, but plays a critical role in shaping strategy, enabling execution, and accelerating results across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coaches, mentors, develops and leads assigned team members

  • Plans and executes regular one on one with assigned team members

  • In collaboration with Sales Manager

    • Creates development plan for each team member

    • Builds annual sales forecast for assigned team

    • Builds market plans

    • Executes company initiatives

    • Participate in and potentially lead sales meetings

    • Participates in responsibility for sales and marketing of Rockwell Automation and Hoffman product lines

    • Maximizes participation and relationship with members of Affiliated Distributors (AD)

    • Builds strong relationships with key vendors and stakeholders

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Intrinsic motivation to learn, grow and assume greater responsibility.

  • Desire to coach, mentor, develop and lead others.

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or business field. A combination of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered in place of a bachelor’s degree.

  • Minimum 5 years sales, product and customer service experience

  • Excellent listening skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of McNaughton-McKay business systems.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to:  Sales Manager

Direct Reports:  Account Managers

Working Conditions:  Normal office environment; frequent daily travel in assigned territory, some overnight travel.
