The Acoustic Phonetics and Perception Lab is hiring one part-time associate research scientist to work with Dr. Susannah Levi in the Department of Communicative Disorders, New York University on a project examining speech production in different speaking styles. Responsibilities include collection and analysis of speech acoustic data, participant recruitment and scheduling, preparing for and supporting research study visits, administering study procedures in accordance with established protocols, recording, organizing, and maintaining speech samples and study documentation, coding, cleaning, and managing research data, and assisting with data analysis and interpretation.
The ideal candidate will have excellent time-management and organizational skills, as well as experience with human subjects research, including data collection and data management.
Incumbent will work 10 hours per week.
This appointment will run through December 31, 2026, with the possibility of renewal contingent on lab needs and the availability of funds.
The position does not include any supervisory responsibilities, but being able to effectively communicate study procedures and protocols is expected.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly pay for this position is $30. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
