Job Description

The Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy is seeking a part time assistant researcher to support database curation of video-recorded music therapy sessions, with a focus on language development in autistic children.

The Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy provides outpatient clinical services and engages in research and training to advance the field of music therapy

  • The assistant researcher will curate a database of video-recorded music therapy sessions focused on inclusion and exclusion criteria set by the research team

  • The assistant researcher will identify video-recorded sessions and accompanying documentation, maintain records, and create descriptions of sessions to appropriately label content.

  • The assistant researcher will meet with a team of faculty and maintain records of study priorities

This position is mostly remote, with approximately 30% onsite work necessary to complete responsibilities.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant
funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in music therapy and previous experience in research are required

  • Post-graduate training in the Nordoff-Robbins approach to music therapy is preferred
