Job Description

Jaime Napier’s Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking an Associate Research Scientist to conduct globally-conscious research on gender-related attitudes, gender stereotypes, and/or attitudes and beliefs about sexual orientation. Terms of employment include competitive salary and benefits.

Research in our lab focuses on the social and psychological antecedents and consequences of inequality, broadly defined. The ideal candidate for the current position will have a strong background in research on gender and sexual orientation. Some potential projects include: (1) understanding backlash against gender equality and queer rights; (2) understanding the content and structure of gender stereotypes and their consequences; and (3) examining patterns of gender-related attitudes over time and cross-nationally.

Candidates must hold a PhD degree with at least 3 years in social psychology or a closely related field, be competent in research design and advanced statistical analyses, and have strong writing and communication skills. Preferences will be given to candidates who are passionate about gender-related issues and have their own research agenda toward that end.
