
The position of Associate Remediation Specialist is a key player at TransPerfect. Specialists execute document accessibility projects from the start to the finish and serve as a vital resource for ensuring our clients' digital content is inclusive. Individuals in this role focus on PDF and document remediation in line with WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines, directly helping global organizations stay compliant with critical accessibility legislation (including the ADA, ACA, and the EU Accessibility Act). This role is ideal for detail-oriented individuals looking to build a career in digital accessibility and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Be responsible for the entire life-cycle of all document remediation projects assigned to the individual
Remediate PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoints, and other digital formats by properly adjusting tags, reading order, and alternative text to meet WCAG 2.1/2.2 standards
Juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Understand and abide by individual project instructions
Liaise with sales and project management staff to clarify project parameters
Coordinate with quality personnel and utilize assistive technologies to ensure that the remediated documents perfectly comply with instructions and global accessibility laws
Communicate any issues/problems that arise
Distribute information to sales staff in a timely manner
Familiarity with or a strong desire to learn digital accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1/2.2) and related legislation (ADA, ACA, EU Accessibility Act)
Experience with document tagging, structural accessibility, or screen readers (such as JAWS or NVDA) is a strong plus
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Customer service and/or project management experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Effective time management
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task
Working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat
Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks and work in a team environment.
Must be willing to learn new things, be open to challenges and thrive on success
