Job Description


Minimum qualifications:

  • JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the jurisdictions where the position is located.
  • 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
  • Experience in digital regulation including privacy and other data laws, and with UK, European laws and institutions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in regulator engagement.
  • Experience engaging with regulators, including DPAs and European authorities.
  • Experience developing, evaluating, and maintaining programs that ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments.
  • Experience working with technology companies and ability to understand complex technical issues.
  • Deep familiarity with European and other EMEA region laws.
  • Understanding of privacy and cybersecurity adjacent regulations (e.g., EU Digital Services Act, EU AI Act, NIS2, DORA).

As an Associate Regulatory Counsel, Privacy Advisory, you’ll join a Global team that provides subject matter expertise and engages with regulators, academics, and others to consider the role of Privacy law in the face of our changing economy, the development of new technology, and passage of new laws and regulations. The role involves interpreting laws, partnering with internal stakeholders across the company to mitigate risk, and helping communicate our compliance externally.
As an Associate Regulatory Counsel, Privacy Advisory, you’ll join a Global team that provides subject matter expertise and engages with regulators, academics, and others to consider the role of Privacy law in the face of our changing economy, the development of new technology, and passage of new laws and regulations. The role involves interpreting laws, partnering with internal stakeholders across the company to mitigate risk, and helping communicate our compliance externally.

Responsibilities

  • Act as regulatory SME to advise on data-related regulatory compliance obligations for technology and AI products.
  • Interfacing between regulators and internal stakeholders in Compliance, Business, Product, and Engineering teams.
  • Manage government and regulator discussions, negotiations, and disclosures on compliance readiness efforts.
  • Partner with Government Affairs and Public Policy colleagues to advance government and regulator discussions, negotiations, and disclosures on compliance readiness efforts.
