The team has a particular strength in regulated funds and is recognised for combining deep regulatory expertise with a highly commercial, client‑focused approach.

The position can be based in Bristol or London and offers excellent exposure to complex, high‑quality work in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Advising asset managers on the launch, restructuring, promotion and operation of investment funds, with a particular emphasis on regulated funds such as UCITS.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating key fund‑related agreements, including custody/depositary, administration, investment management, distribution and platform agreements.
  • Supporting on corporate and strategic transactions involving asset and wealth managers, including acquisitions, disposals and restructurings.
  • Advising on, reviewing and drafting retail investment product and service documentation.
  • Advising institutional and other significant investors on their investments into funds.
  • Advising on applicable financial services regulatory requirements, working closely with specialist regulatory colleagues where appropriate.

The role offers high levels of responsibility, early client exposure and the opportunity to develop a strong personal practice within a supportive team structure.

  • Ability to work autonomously where appropriate, while exercising sound judgment in seeking input from partners and colleagues when required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and concisely.
  • Strong client focus, with an ability and willingness to become actively involved in marketing and business development.
  • Commercially driven, with an understanding of client objectives and market dynamics.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse, inclusive and collaborative team.
