
Associate Regional Manager (MFB - Central Region) Objective
To work with the Field Operations Division director and the Member Engagement and Field Training Manager in building, maintaining, and servicing the largest possible membership in each assigned county Farm Bureau in order to implement county, state, and national policies and programs.
Associate Regional Manager (MFB - Central Region) Responsibilities
Serve as the regional membership and retention manager assisting county Farm Bureaus to plan and implement an approved membership program that will result in membership growth, retention, and involvement.
Manage all organizational aspects of County Administrative Managers including, but not limited to, hiring, training and on-going coaching, performance appraisals, collaborating with county leadership to establish priorities, and providing coverage for all organizational aspects for County Administrative Manager vacancies.
Review monthly county financial statements, conducting a cash audit in each county per year and reporting discrepancies to the executive committee and the County Services Department.
Attend all county board meetings and assist the county president in conducting productive board meetings. Provide a written and oral report at each meeting informing members of programs and activities of the Michigan Farm Bureau. Report pertinent activities and issues of county Farm Bureaus to the Director of Field Operations, Field Trainer and appropriate Michigan Farm Bureau staff.
Assist and advise county boards in establishing goals and priorities, appointing qualified members to serve on committees, and conducting successful county events.
Develop and provide training to county Farm Bureau board members and county volunteers.
Recruit members to be active participants at county, state, and national events. Provide opportunities for members to grow and develop leadership skills within the organization.
Meet with farmer members on their farming operation to better understand their issues. Build relationships with a broad array of members beyond current leadership, particularly uninvolved and new members to surface and develop new leaders.
Serve as a liaison with Farm Bureau Insurance Managing Partners and agents developing relationships, looking for additional ways to partner, and tying agents into the year-long membership campaign as well as assisting with membership related issues.
Meet with ag industry stakeholders and MSU Extension personnel on a periodic basis, assisting with regional coordination of partner agricultural organizations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Associate Regional Manager (MFB - Central Region) Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in agribusiness, agri-communications, business, or political science, or equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience working or serving in a volunteer capacity for a nonprofit organization required.
Knowledge of ag industry required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.
Must possess excellent listening and superior customer service skills with strong leadership abilities.
Must possess a valid driver license, not to exceed seven MVR points or Conviction of
Reckless Driving, DUI, or DWI.
Work with minimal daily supervision.
Note: This is a work from home position (from the state of Michigan) primarily covering these Michigan counties: Clinton, Eaton, Genesee, Ingham, Shiawassee. Must live within or no more than 30 miles from the assigned region.
