JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will support Quality and coordinate initiatives in MCC that will ensure integrity in Quality procedures and certifications according to agencies/government regulations/Quality Pillar.
Considered a subject matter expert on food safety regulations. Interact with external governing bodies / customers on food safety issues and inspections for the Plant.
Primary responsibility for tracking and monitoring all Quality KPIs including Food Safety, Customer Complaints, Cost of Poor Quality, etc.
Lead the continuous improvement of Quality policies and associated KPIs in support of the VPO Quality Pillar.
Lead the continuous improvement of our operations through the effective implementation of Corrective and Preventive actions of PRP and HACCP audits in all zones.
Lead efforts in the plant to improve Quality and the effectiveness of plant cleaning and sanitation programs.
Evaluate new suppliers of products and equipment in order to reduce costs and improve results.
Perform audits of VPO Quality Pillar.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science preferred, Food/Brewing Science, Microbiology, engineering or related field preferred.
3 years of experience in the food and beverage industry preferred.
In depth experience with high-speed manufacturing environment, including plant sanitation practices.
Working knowledge current GMPs, HACCP, pest control and allergen control. Expertise in Food Safety standards (BRC) a plus.
Strong understanding of VPO Quality Pillar policies and procedures.
Six Sigma Green or Black belt certification preferred.
Strong leadership and communication skills (both verbal and written) required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Ability to relocate within the U.S.
Flexibility and availability to work rotating shifts, overtime and weekends.
