Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Project Manager to support the delivery of a large-scale Data Center Exit and AWS cloud migration program. This role will work closely with and report to a Senior Project Manager, playing a key role in coordinating project activities across a complex, multi-stream initiative.

You will assist in managing the migration of applications, infrastructure, and services from on-premises data centres to AWS, ensuring alignment with timelines, governance, and business objectives. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in enterprise-scale cloud transformation programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program & Project Support (Data Center Exit): Support the Senior Project Manager in delivering a large, complex data center migration and AWS cloud adoption program, including workload migration, decommissioning, and transition activities.
  • Planning & Coordination: Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project plans, including tracking dependencies across migration waves, application readiness, infrastructure setup, and cutover activities.
  • Workstream Coordination: Coordinate across multiple workstreams (e.g., infrastructure, applications, networking, security, cloud platform, and vendors) to ensure alignment and timely execution.
  • Migration Tracking & Reporting: Track progress of application and infrastructure migrations to AWS, maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), and provide regular status updates to the Senior PM and stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, business units, cloud engineers, and external vendors to ensure clarity on deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities.
  • Cloud Transition Support: Build working knowledge of AWS services and support activities related to cloud migration, environment readiness, and post-migration stabilization.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to project governance frameworks, change control processes, and security/compliance requirements throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify, log, and track project risks and issues; escalate appropriately and assist in coordinating mitigation actions.
  • Cutover & Deployment Support: Support planning and execution of migration cutover events, including scheduling, communications, and hypercare coordination.
  • Financial & Vendor Tracking: Assist with budget tracking, cost monitoring, and coordination with vendors supporting the data center exit and AWS migration.
  • Documentation & Process Support: Maintain project documentation, runbooks, migration schedules, and governance artefacts; contribute to continuous improvement of delivery processes.
