Experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in the testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and energization of HVDC systems, EHV/HV Air

Insulated Substations (AIS) and Gas Insulated Substations (GIS). Responsible for planning and executing pre-commissioning and

commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, safety requirements, and client

expectations. Proven expertise in protection and control systems, power transformers, switchgear, CTs/PTs, GIS equipment, SCADA,

communication systems, and HVDC converter station equipment. Skilled in coordinating with clients, OEMs, EPC contractors, and utility

representatives to achieve safe and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute testing and commissioning activities for AIS, GIS, and HVDC substations up to EHV voltage levels.

Preform pre-commissioning and functional testing Power Transformers, Circuit Breakers, CTs, VTs/CVTs, Disconnectors and

Earthing Switches, Surge Arresters, GIS Bays and Modules and HVDC Converter Equipment etc.

  • Good to have knowledge on protection relay testing using Omicron, FREJA, or equivalent test equipment.
  • Perform secondary injection, end-to-end testing, interlock verification, and protection scheme testing.
  • Review engineering drawings, protection logic diagrams, cause-and-effect matrices, and commissioning procedures.

Coordinate with Commissioning managers for site activities, energization plans, outage schedules, and system integration

testing.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical, protection, and control system issues.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, IS, utility, and project-specific standards.
  • Prepare commissioning reports, test records, punch lists, and final handover documentation.
  • Maintain strict adherence to HSE requirements, permit-to-work systems, and electrical safety regulations.
