We are seeking a skilledSPID (Smart P&ID) Administrator with 2–4 years of hands-on experience in Octave SPID project setup and configuration, catalog and symbol customization. The ideal candidate will support engineering projects by ensuring efficient management, customization, and maintenance of the SPID environment.

  • Creation of project hierarchy, template and symbols and new line types as per requirement.
  • Implementation and Customization of Data dictionary manager, Options manager Format manager and Filter manager.
  • Setup/customize Smart P&ID (SPID) projects as per client/project requirements, including customization of symbology, report running and customization, procedure writing and coordination.
  • SPID Tool access management
  • Create drawing templates as determined by Client Standards.
  • Implementation and Customization of Reports like Pipeline, Equipment and instrument list as per project requirement
  • Provide support for designers and engineers using SPID.
  • Troubleshoot application and configuration issues.
  • Assist in user training and preparation of documentation.
  • Item tag configuration as per project requirements.
  • Maintain daily project backups and trouble shooting.
  • Coordination with Process and other engineering Leads to receive all necessary data for SPID PBS Setup and catalog customization.
  • Interface/coordination with SI, S3D, SEL and SPF administrators.
  • Interface with P&ID designer leads, discipline leads, projects managers on projects.
  • Develop detailed project work instructions for users.
  • Develop detailed Quality Check instructions for users.
  • Audit SPID projects to ensure projects integrity and proper system operation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Set up maintenance programs to be run (delete orphan items, repair relationship command, constraint report, etc.)
  • Retrieve PBS in SPID and set up for publishing to Smart Foundation
  • Prepare database and 2D drawings for client turnover.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server / database concepts.
  • Knowledge of Smart Foundation (SPF) integration is preferred.
  • Understanding of engineering workflows and P&ID standards.

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year engineering degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and two (2) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Degree in engineering. Good understanding of current engineering design, drafting applications and engineering data integration software packages.
  • Knowledge of Information Management and Integrated Engineering Systems processes and principles
  • Familiar with international codes, standards and practices
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Hexagon suites of products.
  • Behavioral Competences: Excellent communication skills and quick learner. Be a good team player. Flexible and adaptable to change, with track record of demonstrating initiative, analytical capabilities and problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Hexagon Smart suite (S3D Preferred).
  • Exposure to automation using scripts/macros.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Data Management Systems
