The REAL Deal Facilitator is a full-time, 12-month embedded role supporting students within the Little Rock School District’s Alternative Learning Environment campuses and the City of Little Rock Summer Youth Program. This position leads the implementation of REAL Deal programming by delivering curriculum, supporting student engagement, and coordinating services across sites.
The facilitator provides direct student support through coaching, behavioral assessment, crisis response, case management, and trauma-informed practices. They deliver small-group workshops, reinforce curriculum, monitor student progress, and connect students to appropriate health and mental health resources.
This role also partners with families, schools, and community organizations to strengthen support systems, remove barriers to learning, and promote student success. The facilitator supports skill-building in areas such as emotional regulation, conflict resolution, attendance, and long-term planning, while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and standards related to student care and confidentiality.
Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of project/program management experience with experience working with youth or families in school, clinical, or community settings required.
Experience with trauma-informed practice, crisis response, and case management preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrates knowledge of federal and state laws related to disabilities, mental health, child welfare, confidentiality, mandated reporting, and student/family rights.
Strong ability to engage high-risk youth with cultural competence and trauma awareness.
Skilled in crisis de-escalation, safety planning, and coordination of community services.
Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in diverse school environments.
Responsibilities:
Conduct student intake, diagnostic assessments, and needs evaluations in alignment with student and family rights
Develop and implement individualized short- and long-term intervention plans based on assessment outcomes
Provide trauma-informed support, including one-on-one coaching, emotional regulation, and crisis intervention
Coordinate access to health, mental health, behavioral, and community-based services
Consult on attendance, behavior, homelessness, crisis response, mental health, and child welfare concerns
Advocate for student and family needs to support retention, attendance, and successful transitions
Serve as the embedded program representative across assigned school and community sites
Facilitate and support the delivery of evidence-based curriculum aligned with program goals
Lead student groups, enrichment activities, and small-group support sessions
Collaborate daily with school administrators, counselors, teachers, and youth program staff
Support family engagement efforts, guest speakers, and community partnership activities
Maintain accurate and timely case records and service documentation
Complete required data entry, assessments, logs, and referral documentation
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies related to confidentiality, mental health, disabilities, and child welfare
Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes and reporting requirements
Participate in required trainings and professional development
Support outreach efforts, recruitment activities, and seasonal programming
Perform additional duties aligned with program goals.
