
This is a 10-month academic year position and is available for the Fall 2026 semester, beginning on August 18, 2026
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR ( salary range $58,936.23 - $69,066.51)
SCOPE OF WORK: To educate students and develop curricula in the Air Traffic Control Program. This position reports to the Department Chair of the Aviation Department at Nashua Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in aviation management, aviation technology, air traffic control/airspace management, education, business administration, engineering, or related field. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in education, engineering, business administration or other related field shall require an Associate’s degree with an aviation concentration.
Experience: Six (6) years of teaching, business or industry, in the field of air traffic Control (Tower and RADAR) or aviation management, or related field
OR
Education: Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or technical school with major study in aviation technology.
Experience: Eight (8) years of teaching, business, or industry, in the field of air traffic Control (Tower and RADAR) or aviation management, or related field.
License/Certification: Valid drivers license; FAA Professional Controller Certification
Preferred Qualifications/Certifications: Experience with aviation training program management; Air traffic Control safety team experience.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Thorough knowledge of teaching methods, the use of instructional materials and the organization of subject matter into effective teaching units in technology or other specialized programs. Complete knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and equipment in subjects being taught. Ability to evaluate student progress and provide guidance to both students and instructors. Ability to supervise professional instructional staff and collaborate in development of programs, policies and procedures. Ability to work effectively with businesses and community organizations. Ability to originate and implement new programs and to improve existing programs. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.

Experience: Seven (7) years of teaching, business or industry in the field of air traffic Control (Tower and RADAR) or aviation management, two years of which shall have been in the supervision of students or personnel in educational activities or academic program administration, or seven (7) years of industry experience directly related to air traffic control (Tower and RADAR).
License/Certification: Valid drivers license; FAA Professional Controller Certification
Preferred Qualifications/Certifications: Experience with aviation training program management; Air traffic Control safety team experience
