
The Research Unit of User Perspectives and Community-based Interventions, Department of Public Health, University of Southern Denmark, invites applications for a five year part-time (50%) position as associate professor in Occupational Science.
The position will run from November 2026 or by agreement.
The unit is one of seven research units at the Department of Public Health. The Unit includes two research groups: User Perspectives and Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy, respectively. The open position is within the research group of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy.
The research group of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy engage in research focusing on the relationships between human activity, the health of individuals/collectives, and communities in given socio-cultural contexts.

Required qualifications
The successful candidate must hold an MSc, PhD, or equivalent in health sciences, must have proven relevant teaching and supervision experience and must have demonstrated scientific impact through publications. The successful candidate will be engaged in teaching, supervision and examination at several educations at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level at the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Salary and terms of employment
Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the salary agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.

Assessment of shortlisted applications will be done under the existing Appointment Order for universities. Shortlisted applications will be assessed by an assessment committee. The committee may request additional information, and, if so, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the necessary material.
When the assessment committee has submitted its report, the applicants will receive part of the evaluation that concerns themselves.
