Job Description

  • Fixed Term part time appointment (2-years, 14 hours per week, 0.4 FTE)
  • Level D: $179,439 - $192,572(pro-rata) + 17% Superannuation
  • Clinical Loading (if eligible)
  • Located at one of the llawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District hospitals (Wollongong, Shellharbour or Shoalhaven)

About the role

This role provides educational leadership in surgery within the UOW Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. This includes leadership for curriculum review and development, teaching and assessment, while supporting research in the discipline.

You will also draw on your clinical networks to strengthen student learning opportunities across UOW’s regional and rural partners and provide leadership to clinician educators including surgeons working across MD training hubs.

About you

You are a qualified surgeon with ( or working towards) a consultant appointment with ISLHD and are eligible for Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) registration in NSW. You bring demonstrated experience in medical education, including teaching across all levels and contributing to curriculum and assessment development.

You are a collaborative leader who can effectively support teams and mentor others across distributed settings. With strong interpersonal skills, you build effective relationships in both clinical and academic environments. You also show a clear commitment to ongoing professional development, research and delivering high-quality outcomes in both patient care and education.

    Current or anticipated appointment as a consultant surgeon with ISLHD
