The School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) was established in 1999 and offers comprehensive education programmes in Chinese medicine, including both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine. The School is engaged in a wide range of research projects, provides Chinese medicine healthcare services to the community, and seeks to foster modernisation of the Chinese medicine profession. To consolidate the strengths of innovative research, the School has established high quality theme-based Research Centres equipped with advanced equipment and facilities. The highlighted strategic research areas in the School include (1) Precision medicine and phenomics study; (2) Translational medicine and innovative drug discovery; and (3) Authentication and testing of Chinese medicines.
To strengthen research capacity and advance existing research disciplines in SCM through computer science and AI, we would like to recruit a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in AI, Bioinformatics and/or Computational drug discovery in partnership with the Department of Computer Science on collaborative research to drive breakthroughs in AI and modern Chinese medicine including new drug discovery.
The successful candidate will be considered for a joint appointment between SCM (home unit) and the Department of Computer Science (CS) at the level of joint appointment, ranging from 0% affiliated appointment to 49% in CS, subject to the candidate’s academic qualifications and experiences.

This is a tenure-track position with an initial appointment on a fixed-term contract of up to three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Tenured appointment is expected to be attained within six years.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
