About the Role

Lead and advance Indigenous Health education, research and student success within UOW’s Doctor of Medicine program. Working collaboratively across the University, health services and Indigenous communities you will drive curriculum innovation, support Indigenous student pathways and strengthen Indigenous health outcomes through teaching, research and strategic leadership.

Key responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with GSM and UOW to ensure the GSM MD program is accredited by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and addresses all accreditation requirements
• Lead the Indigenous Health team in its strategies to increase Indigenous student recruitment and retention, improve the Indigenous Health curriculum and support UOW staff to address equity matters in relation to Indigenous staff and students
• Lead the development and delivery of Indigenous Health curriculum, teaching and assessment within the MD program
• Build and strengthen partnerships with Indigenous communities, health services and key stakeholders
• Support the recruitment, retention and success of Indigenous medical students
• Provide leadership, mentoring and support to Indigenous staff and students
• Contribute to Indigenous Health research, accreditation activities and strategic initiatives across the program

Role Details

• Employment type: Continuing Contingent* | Full-time appointment
• Level D: $183,028 - $196,423 + 17% Superannuation
• Location: Based at Wollongong campus, with occasional travel to Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands campuses
