Job Description
This is an early-career Product role, where you'll have the opportunity to support multiple teams and be the trusted Product contact Engineers reach for during Melbourne hours, so no half-day is lost to a five-minute question.
For Engineers you're the fast answer and the clear call. For Product Managers you're the partner who takes on specs, tickets, QA and reporting, and keeps context intact across all our offices in the USA, Melbourne and India. For you, it's hands on product experience alongside Engineers and experienced PMs, on a marketplace where decisions move real revenue.
What you'll do
- Triage bugs and clear blockers. Own the bug path for the teams you support: assess severity, decide what's picked up now and what waits, and resolve blockers in region rather than leaving them for someone twelve hours away.
- Make handoffs stick. Carry context across the USA, Melbourne and India in writing, so decisions made in one region hold through to the next morning.
- Write specs and tickets Engineers can start on. No follow-up conversation needed, even for readers in other time zones. You'll also pick up spec and ticket work from existing PMs.
- Protect quality. Run quality checks and user acceptance testing before release, build the recurring reports Product uses to make decisions, and investigate data discrepancies properly before escalating them.
- Support PMs and grow into owning features. As your credibility builds, you'll scope and ship small features and improvements end to end, then measure whether they worked.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years in an early product role. A track record of careful work in a complex system matters more than your job title.
- Confident use of spreadsheets and analytics tools, ideally including SQL.
- Clear written communication. Most of your influence happens asynchronously, in writing, read by people you rarely share a working hour with.
- Experience using AI tools to work faster and better, and the curiosity to push how far they can go.
- The ability to work on-site in Melbourne alongside the engineers you support.
Who will thrive in this role::
- Take ownership. When work falls between two people, you pick it up and follow it through.
- Stay curious. You ask why a number looks wrong rather than just reporting it.
- Make sound calls. You're comfortable deciding with incomplete information and no one to check with, and just as comfortable knowing when not to.
- Hold a position respectfully. You can tell an engineer something isn't the priority right now, and stand by that until the owning PM confirms.
- Sweat the detail. You catch issues before customers do.
- Build trust across distance. You work well with engineers on-site and PMs in the USA and India, and you respect everyone's time zones.
- Stay clear under pressure. You turn fast-moving situations into concise, accurate updates others can act on.
- Grow deliberately. You take on more scope together with your leader, rather than waiting to be handed it.
