Purpose of Role
Minimum 5 years engineering experience, with at least 2 years in cost analysis or 3 years in equipment procurement (OPEX). SAP/Ariba experience advantageous.
Responsible for sourcing capital equipment and services in support of Dyson’s manufacturing plans (OPEX).
Operates autonomously, demonstrating a meticulous and analytical approach to cost breakdown and supplier negotiation, driving cost reduction and ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions aligned with Dyson’s operational and financial objectives.
Coordinates and leads sourcing projects to successful completion, meeting all project/business requirements.
Reviews and validates purchase requests for compliance and completeness.
Approves purchases within authorized spend thresholds following company policies.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date purchase orders, procurement systems, and documentation, monitors and reports cost, schedule, and performance metrics for contracts and subcontracts.
Drives and supports other assignments or projects as needed.

Key Accountabilities
Strategic Equipment Sourcing & OPEX Reduction Define and execute strategic and tactical initiatives for reducing equipment-spend, optimizing overall procurement value.
Supplier Management & Negotiation Formulate and lead negotiation strategies with suppliers and vendors to secure optimal pricing, terms, and strategic supply relationships for equipment and related services.
Cost Analysis, Data Search & Accuracy Analyse full cost structures for equipment (direct, indirect, and hidden costs), build cost models, and ensure data accuracy—providing insights for budgeting, total cost of ownership, and forecasting.
Project Management & Multitasking Deliver multiple, concurrent equipment procurement projects, balancing milestones, priorities, and cross-functional resources to ensure on-time and in-budget outcomes.
Documentation, Compliance & Systems Ensure rigorous and accurate documentation management in purchasing systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba), supporting compliance and audit readiness.
Process Improvement Initiate, lead, and drive cross-functional process improvements and cost management initiatives consistent with company objectives.
Internal Stakeholder Management Proactively engage with cross-functional teams, communicating clearly, anticipating information needs, sharing updates, and aligning on business or project priorities.
External Supplier Engagement Build and maintain robust supplier relationships, resolve issues, and drive supplier performance, innovation, and continuous improvement across the supply base.
Risk Management & Quality Identify risks in supplier proposals and contract execution, implement mitigations, and own supplier quality escalation when required.
Leadership & Collaboration Lead complex, strategic, and business-critical procurement projects or initiatives, exercising influence within cross-functional and leadership teams to deliver best outcomes for quality, cost, and business objectives.
