About us

Dyson's Test & Quality Assurance ensures the products we sell represent the high Quality and Reliability of the Dyson brand, by using the world class techniques to implement automated methods of testing. This can involve simulating elements of the product to allow testing of all scenarios, to using image recognition or advanced technologies for automatic identification of elements displayed on the user interface. Quality is ensured and actively maintained during the Scaled Agile Framework development process by our QMS experts, and accepting customer correspondence to improve future products. Our labs allow unattended testing of partial to full products including moving robots, allowing the team to work remotely.

About the role

  • Lead and manage home (alpha) test initiatives to capture issues at product development early stage and assess product performance in real-world conditions.
  • Validate lab test outcomes against design quality to ensure seamless integration.
  • Analyse in-life product quality and other data streams to develop actionable insights.
  • Build and drive a leading quality dashboard that functions as an early indicator for both software and hardware quality (SWHWPS).
  • Develop robust product-level test specifications and perform detailed product level requirement analytics.
  • Ensure detailed and accurate test specifications are ready and aligned before Target Set milestones, supporting design and engineering teams from concept through production post launch.
  • Drive innovations in test methodologies, including the application of AI/ML and advanced data analytics to enhance detection reliability and test efficiency.
  • Act as a technical authority within the Test & QA team, collaborating with Development, Operations, Quality and Design teams to integrate test processes seamlessly into the product development lifecycle.
  • Report projects test progress & software quality status to senior stakeholders and ensure clear communication across teams.

About you

  • Minimally 7 years product quality or software test relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer engineering / Electronic Engineering, or related fields.
  • Highly proficient in Python for data manipulation and statistical analysis. You have hands-on experience using libraries such as Pandas and NumPy for data processing, and Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly for creating automated quality visualizations.
  • Skilled in building professional, automated dashboards using tools such as Tableau or Power BI. You can translate raw Python-processed data into intuitive visual interfaces for senior leadership tracking.
  • Proficient in SQL for querying complex datasets and experienced in working with modern cloud data platforms like AWS Redshift.
  • Possess a strong understanding of electronics hardware, its interfacing to software systems.
  • Knowledge of software in IOT products, such as embedded, app, cloud and ML.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical information clearly to executives and non-technical leaders.
  • Strong ability to multi-task across multiple product deliverables and manage multiple schedules simultaneously.
