Job Title – Platform Administrator

Organization Name: NEC Corporations India Pvt. Ltd.

Reporting Relationship: Senior Technical Specialist

Job location: Bengaluru

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and monitor Linux-based systems ensuring platform stability, performance, and availability.
2. Support Big Data and analytics environments (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive) through routine maintenance, service restarts, and log analysis.
3. Perform regular health checks, capacity monitoring, and performance tuning of platform components.
4. Collaborate with security teams for certificate renewals, firewall whitelisting, and compliance updates.
5. Assist in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and prepare post-incident reports.
6. Maintain up-to-date system documentation, SOPs, and configuration details.
7. Work with cross-functional teams to support deployments, upgrades, and integrations across the platform.
8. Ensure data security and user access governance across all environments (Dev, UAT, Prod).

Education and Certifications:

• Mandatory – Bachelor's degree (B.Tech /B.E.)

Technical Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Proficient in basic and advanced Linux commands for system operations and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash) for automating routine administrative tasks.
• Experience managing file systems, permissions, and process monitoring.
• Understanding of DNS, ports, firewall rules, and network connectivity troubleshooting.
• Awareness of SSL/TLS certificates and their role in securing communication between services.
• Ability to coordinate with network/security teams for whitelisting and certificate updates.
• Exposure writing Shell or Python scripts for operational automation, health checks, and report generation.
• Understanding of scheduled jobs using cron or workflow tools (e.g., Airflow).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for root cause analysis and system issue resolution.
• Ability to document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain platform runbooks.
• Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams (infra, network, data engineering).
