At East Midlands Airport (EMA), we connect people, enable effortless travel and power seamless trade across the UK and beyond. As the country’s largest pure freight operation and a key contributor to global trade, we operate in a fast‑moving, commercially focused environment where everyone gets stuck in – we’re a close-knit team of Journey Makers that shows up for each other every day.
Following an internal promotion, we’re looking for an Associate People Director to help shape the future of our airport and its people. Supporting around 1,000 Journey Makers, you’ll lead a small on‑site People team and work closely with communications, learning, talent and wider MAG stakeholders. In this strategically important role, you’ll partner with the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team to strengthen organisational performance, guide complex change and build a high‑performing, values‑driven culture - contributing directly to MAG’s ambition to be the UK’s No.1 airport group.
If you’re excited by shaping a workplace, culture and leadership community that keeps the airport moving every single day - and contributes to MAG’s ambition to be No.1 - we’d love to hear from you!

We’re on a mission to be number one in our industry, and that takes talent in all its forms. With so many exciting roles across our airports and businesses, there’s space for your unique strengths to shine.
Whether this is your first role or your next big step, we want to hear from you – even if you don’t think you tick every box. What matters most is what you bring.
We’re proud to be a Disability Confident employer. If you need any adjustments to support your application or interview, just let us know. We’re committed to helping you perform at your best.
At MAG, every journey matters. Our Colleague Communities play a big part in that: Women’s Network, Embrace (Race & Ethnicity), Fly with Pride (LGBTQIA+), Mind Matters (Mental Health), PACT (Parents & Carers), RespectABILITY (Disability & Neurodiversity), and the CAVU Global ID&E Affinity Group.

Manchester Airports Group (MAG) is the UK’s largest airports group. Collectively, MAG owns and operates three UK airports – Manchester, London Stansted, and East Midlands – alongside digital travel services business, CAVU.
Last year 54m passengers flew through our airports, and we contributed more than £8bn to the UK economy. MAG directly employs 7,000 people and supports more than 40,000 jobs across the supply chain.
We understand airports and air travel better than anyone. Our impact spans the length of the UK, with around 70% of the population living within a two-hour journey of a MAG airport. By working with a wide range of airlines to forge long-term partnerships that maximise the choice and value available to passengers, we have grown a large route network that connects people and businesses to the globe.
Looking ahead, we are ambitious and focused on making the future of travel better. We are investing in our airports to launch new routes, and give our passengers the best experience. In CAVU, we are using MAG’s decades of aviation experience and industry-leading consumer insights to revolutionise airport travel. And, running through everything we do, we are working confidently towards a sustainable future and achieving net zero for aviation by 2050.
