Job Description

The Associate Payroll Specialist utilizes existing Payroll procedures to solve routine or standard problems. They receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others within the team, and they will leverage their conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures related to Payroll and Finance.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for execution of assigned end to end Payroll activities, including processing of payroll, employee and statutory payments, payroll-related accounting, reporting, and compliance
• Responsible for administration of specifically assigned payroll-related activities to include timely and accurate vendor invoice processing
• Adhere to company policies and procedures
• Promote a positive payroll team environment
• Prepare Monthly General Ledger Reconciliation
• Check and Analyze the Payroll Accounts
• Update time data and pay period adjustments in the payroll system
• Payroll processing and verification of payroll calculations/payments
• Coordinate salary transfer to employee’s bank account
• Respond to employees’ queries on payroll payments
• Prepare the final statement of terminated employees
• Complete monthly reconciliation of payroll accounts
• Coordinate monthly deposit of withheld taxes and retirement benefits to respective authorities
• Prepare annual withholding taxed and retirement benefits returns and submit them to respective authorities
• Respond to payroll-related queries raised by accounting group/internal and external auditors

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
• Minimum 6 years of work experience in payroll
• High standard of safe working practice, quality, and productivity, as well as compliance with the Code of Business Conduct
• Extensive knowledge of all aspects of payroll processing
• Ability to perform gross to net calculations, able to reconcile taxes, able to resolve GL and Treasury issues
• Very good communication skills, ability to multi-task
• Ability to work as an individual contributor as well as a team player
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines
• Maintain key competencies associated with the payroll processing function
• Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken
• Computer literate in Microsoft programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
