Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) invites applications at the associate or full professor rank for a cluster hire in clinical psychology in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences. The specific area of research specialization within clinical psychology is open. Our nationally renowned Clinical Psychological Science Program brings together faculty whose research spans basic discovery through translation and population-level impact, with the broad goal of advancing the understanding of mental health problems and improving their assessment, prevention, and treatment. The IUB Clinical Psychological Science Program is accredited by PCSAS and APA, administers a NIMH T32 research training program in its eleventh year, and offers a first of its kind Clinical Psychological Science Bachelor of Science degree. We welcome applicants whose research and teaching will add new and/or complementary expertise and scientific perspectives to our ambitious and expanding clinical psychological science program.
These 10‐month appointments would ideally start August 1, 2027, although an earlier or later start date is negotiable. Tenure status at the time of appointment will consider the candidate’s record of accomplishment and demonstrated satisfaction of the University’s applicable standards for tenure, subject to the University’s established review and approval procedures.
Responsibilities: Tenured and tenure-track faculty at Indiana University Bloomington are expected to contribute substantially to the overall academic excellence of their department in research, teaching, and service, for example, by: (1) developing and maintaining a robust research portfolio including pursuing and obtaining extramural research funding to conduct cutting-edge research both as a corresponding principal investigator and as a collaborating investigator; (2) teaching and mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students; and (3) providing service within the department, school, and university in addition to active engagement with the profession and/or the community.
These positions are located on the Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) campus. Successful candidates are expected to work on campus to allow full engagement with the department, school, campus, and community.
Indiana University bases its tenure and promotion recommendations upon performance in research, teaching, and service. All new hires are expected to excel in research and delivery high-quality teaching and service.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants should possess a PhD in psychology (or a related field) and be committed to excellence in scholarship and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Candidates must demonstrate a record of scholarly achievement appropriate for a tenured appointment, including, for example, experience as lead investigator of extramurally funded research, current funding or strong potential to secure external funding, and an established record of publications and scholarly work.
