The Opportunity

Benalla Health is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join our Acute Unit (Part Time & Full time Hours Available).

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager position is a key role within the Acute Unit in the mentoring and leading of nursing staff to provide high quality care to patients.

Key Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Mentor and lead the nursing staff to provide high quality care to patients.
  • Provide visible leadership and clinical oversight to ensure safe, effective, and person-centred care is delivered at all times.
  • Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their goals are heard and their rights are respected.
  • Take responsibility for daily coordination of nursing staff and resource allocation according to acuity and skill mix.
  • Carry out day-to-day management of the unit in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM).
