Job Description

4 days per week in office - Montreal

Norton Rose Fulbright is currently seeking a mid-level lawyer to join its Tax team (Planning) in the Montreal office.

Our global tax lawyers provide comprehensive legal advice covering all areas of tax law, including transactional services, tax planning, compliance, investigations, and litigation, throughout the world.

The lawyer who will join our team will be responsible, among other things, for providing strategic advice on major business transactions and will work closely with a knowledgeable team of professionals. More specifically, the lawyer will be called upon to counsel our clients on matters relating to tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, financing, estate planning, executive compensation, indirect taxes, and much more.

Our clients include local, national and international companies of all sizes, and we are able to skillfully advise on tax matters across multiple key industries and jurisdictions. Our global platform gives us significant international reach, allowing us to provide tax legal services that are adapted to the needs of our sophisticated clientele.

Skills and experience required

  • Have a minimum of three years of experience in a similar position;
  • Hold a Master’s degree in taxation or equivalent specialization in taxation;
  • Be a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec;
  • Have strong research and writing skills;
  • Demonstrate high level of intellectual curiosity;
  • Detail-oriented;
  • Possess outstanding organizational skills;
  • Be an excellent team player.
