Salary Range: $220,000.00 - $250,000.00 Salary/year
- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based primary care by obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions, and delivering preventive health services.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate clinical guidelines, patient preferences, and shared decision-making, including prescribing medications, performing procedures within granted privileges, and monitoring treatment outcomes.
- Coordinate care across the healthcare continuum by collaborating with specialists, behavioral health providers, pharmacists, nurses, care coordinators, community resources, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote continuity and optimize patient outcomes.
- Promote population health and quality improvement by addressing preventive care, chronic disease management, care gaps, evidence-based quality measures, and organizational quality initiatives.
- Educate and empower patients and families by providing culturally responsive education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle behaviors to support informed decision-making and self-management.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record, including documentation, coding, orders, patient communications, and other required records in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in organizational, departmental, and professional activities including committee work, quality improvement initiatives, peer review, continuing medical education, and maintenance of licensure, certification, and clinical competency.
- Demonstrate professionalism, ethical practice, and regulatory compliance by adhering to organizational policies, accreditation standards, applicable laws, patient confidentiality requirements, and evidence-based clinical practice.
- Contribute to a patient-centered, team-based care environment by fostering respectful communication, promoting health equity, supporting colleagues, and helping advance the mission of New Bedford Community Health.
- Performs office-based women's health procedures, including intrauterine device (IUD) insertion and removal, Nexplanon insertion and removal, and other procedures within the Physician's scope of practice and clinical privileges.
- Provides consultation, mentorship, and guidance across the organization to physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, students, nurses, and other clinical staff regarding the evaluation and management of a broad range of primary care conditions.
- Serves as a clinical resource for complex patient medical cases and supports the development of procedural competency among other clinicians through teaching, observation, and supervised practice, as appropriate.
- Maintains competency in office-based procedures and follows all Health Center policies, evidence-based guidelines, and quality and safety standards.
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer, Senior Medical Director, or designee.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated clinical judgment and the ability to evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence-based medicine.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with patients, families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care.
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary, team-based model of care while collaborating across clinical and operational departments.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and accurate, timely clinical documentation.
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles, patient safety practices, population health management, and value-based care.
- Ability to analyze clinical information, solve complex medical problems, and exercise sound clinical judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
- Experience caring for medically underserved and culturally diverse populations, with a commitment to advancing health equity.
- Demonstrated proficiency in office-based women's health procedures, including intrauterine device (IUD) insertion and removal, Nexplanon insertion and removal, and other gynecologic procedures within the physician's scope of practice and clinical privileges. Ability to recognize and manage procedural complications and provide evidence-based procedural care.
- Demonstrated ability to educate, mentor, and support physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, students, nurses, and other clinical staff through bedside teaching, procedural instruction, case consultation, and constructive feedback to promote high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
- Ability to perform procedures and clinical responsibilities consistent with granted clinical privileges and organizational credentialing requirements.
