The Local Strategic Buyer is responsible for developing, validating, communicating and implementing sourcing strategies for locally managed categories (at NiM level), following the Strategic Sourcing Process tools, templates and policies developed by Nestrade and applying the Nestlé Standardized Procurement Model.

She/he has to ensure the efficient implementation of new or changing items/services, P2P channel management and of new suppliers.

A DAY IN THE LIFE …

  • Define and implement sourcing strategies for locally managed categories at the NiM level, utilizing Nestrade's Strategic Sourcing tools, templates, and policies.
  • Conduct supplier market analysis, category analysis, supply risk assessments, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) evaluations to identify value creation opportunities and sourcing improvements.
  • Lead and execute sourcing and negotiation activities to secure optimal TCO contracts and favorable commercial agreements with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with Nestlé Business Principles, Procurement Policy, Procurement Standardized Model, Nestlé Supplier Code, and procurement best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to align category strategies and sourcing outcomes with local budgeting and price planning processes.
  • Drive supplier innovation, renovation initiatives, and post-award cost improvement opportunities to support business growth and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with SRM experts and cross-functional teams to conduct supplier performance reviews, SLA assessments, and contract governance activities.
  • Oversee contract management processes, ensuring accurate maintenance of SAP contracts, purchasing information records, master data, and related procurement documentation.

What will make you successful…

  • Demonstrated experience in implementing sourcing strategies across different spend categories over a sustained period (1-3 years).
  • Experience managing one or more spend categories as a Sourcing Specialist, utilizing the Strategic Sourcing Process.
  • Proven track record in risk management, responsible sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
  • Experience in leading and executing supplier negotiations and securing favorable commercial agreements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess market trends, supplier performance, and sourcing opportunities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices, compliance requirements, and contract management principles.
