Job Description

The Manager’s key role is to support the critical objectives of our Client Service Cycle and ORM independent project reviews. The role will directly align to the Principal in Charge of ORM on a daily basis and support operational performance of ORM duties while assisting in continuous improvement of ORM practices, Client Service Cycle enhancements, and ORM policy & procedure optimization efforts. This position will initially focus on portfolio risk analysis/reporting and project review practices while supporting pre-proposal/proposal and SOW reviews.

Responsibilities

General

Pre-Proposal/Proposal/SOW Reviews

  • Based on current client service cycle policies, any Proposal, Statement of Work, RFI response, RFP response, Presentation, Change Request, Purchase Order, Renewal, etc. that is equal to or greater than $300,000 USD and involves setting client expectations in terms of pricing and other professional arrangements must be reviewed by ORM
  • Support above noted ORM reviews, approvals and/or rejections in a timely manner
  • Support continuous improvement in associated area, as it relates to but not limited to the following:
    • updates required to existing CSC tools, templates and websites
    • practice guides needed to improve practice area awareness and adoption
    • enhancements to performance of associated reviews to support data collection and compliance monitoring/statistics
  • Should have command of best practice portfolio/project management governance standards as it relates to review/approval practices through sales pipeline processes
  • Prioritization of Requests by maintaining proper communication with internal clients

Portfolio Risk Analysis & Reporting

  • Support recurring portfolio risk analysis and reporting to executive management which presently consists of the following portfolio scope, assumptions and requirements:
    • Timing: weekly

  • Key analysis/report summary for Unbilled, Past Due and Submitted outlier projects
  • Support the quarterly Disclosure Committee ORM project report. This report identifies high risk projects, provides analysis and assessments updated at the end of each quarter which is then presented to the Disclosure Committee by the ORM Principal. Support includes reaching out to identified project and their aligned project managers to inquire, identify and assess project related issues and risks, active mitigations and overall risk levels.

ORM Project Reviews

  • Per CSC guidelines, independent quality (project) reviews are necessary to enhance client satisfaction, delivery quality and risk mitigation. ORM review checkpoints can occur at the completion of Project Initiation and/or at key milestone/deliverable checkpoints, e.g., end of design, prior to UAT, etc.
  • Based on the large “active” project portfolio at Hackett, portfolio risk analysis provides a mechanism for prioritization/scheduling of project reviews. Key attributes that are assessed/weighted for review prioritization include (not limited to):
    • Technical complexity
    • Financial exposure (e.g., project financial size, greater than $1M)
    • Experience with prior practice area performance
  • Working with ORM Principal, provide support in maintaining a six month rolling forward ORM review schedule
  • Working with project managers, support project review planning and logistics
  • Support the execution of project reviews and final review report results

Mentoring, Training & Coaching

  • Currently, Risk Management and associated project management type training is informal, ad-hoc and on-demand, balanced against other ORM Priorities
  • Support informal ORM / Project Management training primarily performed during coaching moments with project managers during ORM practices included above, including
    • Contract type reviews and feedback
    • Project reviews and feedback
    • Project management tools, including MS Project and Smartsheet
  • Working with ORM Principal, provide support in assessing formal PM / Risk Management training opportunities, timing and options

Update Hackett Sales & Delivery Processes / PM Processes and Tools

  • The noted Client Service Cycle requires a review/refresh based on its last full review and update
  • Support Principal of ORM with assessing CSC current state and refresh options/roadmap
  • Working with Principal of ORM and Hackett IT, actively support CSC updates/enhancements
  • Working with Principal of ORM, support the development of ongoing deployment of updates, including training and documentation

Essential Skills
Job

  • The ideal candidate should have a mix of project management and portfolio management experience, focused within technology and business transformation.
  • Preferred candidate should have demonstrable/proven hands-on experience in core project management disciplines and practices, including all areas of the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge)
  • Strong project management and leadership skills which can be leveraged to support ORM project oversight, client service cycle/methodology enhancements and informal PM coaching for cross practice areas
  • Experience in working with global and multi-cultural disciplined teams
  • Develop tools and processes to improve project life cycle development productivity with experience in structured Agile, SCRUM, Test Driven Development and Waterfall methodologies
  • Able to demonstrate a successful record of accomplishment in delivering projects that include multiple system integrations
  • Fluent communication and presentation skills in English. Ability to proficiently prepare and facilitate internal meetings with Hackett project managers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

Preferred Skills
Job

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in a business or technical school of repute with a major specialization in technology or finance
  • 3 to 5 years of experience covering the above areas of subject-matter expertise
  • Proven track record of delivering professional services to Fortune 500 clients
  • Should be proficient in Microsoft Office skills with mastery in PowerPoint and MS Projects
  • Supporting the management in delivering engagements
  • Experience working in a project management oversight role or in providing consulting services to cross process domain functions while possessing strong facilitation skills
  • Experience of working with a Big 4 or top Management Consulting firm and exposure to multinational environment is preferred
  • Self-motivated, fast learner with the ability to operate independently
