Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

To undertake Supervision, Day to Day/ Annual Planned Operation, Maintenance & trouble shooting of Generation Equipments, Substation Equipment & MV Transmission Lines as per OEM’s recommendation laid down in O&M Manual, relevant law & best engineering practices for Large Hydro Power Projects to ensure 100% plant availability at all times.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Participate in the planning, scheduling, and implementation of maintenance programs for Generation Equipments, Substation Equipment & MV Transmission Lines.
• To maintain a maintenance log book on daily basis for each Activity.
• To prepare a detailed report in case of break-down maintenances, specifying type and reason of breakdown, details of action taken for restoration (Root Cause Analysis Report), list of spare parts consumed, list of special T&P required, if any, for the restoration job.
• To implement and maintain the formats for Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Work permits;
• Assist in preparing estimates for budgetary requirements and preparation of Budget.
• Responsible for safe Plant Operation – Start up, shut down, Emergency Handling, Troubleshooting etc.
• Responsible for the safety & security of all the Assets within the Plant premises.
• Responsible to coordinate with Trading department and Load Dispatch Centre for scheduling and export of Power
• Responsible for maintaining/ improving Plant Parameters as per AOP – Aux Power/Availability/PLF/Reliability
• Responsible for devising & implementation of Management Plans for improvement in the Plant Performance

• Inrteract with Beneficiaries
• Interact Maintenance Heads and O&M Heads
• Equipment Manufacturers, Suppliers, Fabricators & Maintenance Service Providers.
• All Major Maintenance Service (AMC) Partners working in the Plant.
• Local Community Members & Maintenance Service Providers.

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

• Interact with Departmental employees on a regular basis to understand their techno-commercial & behavioral needs and be respondent to them on all their issues.
• Interact with other Departmental on a regular basis for mutual aids and building cross functional relationship.
• Interactions with colleagues/peers in the Business and Corporate.

FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS

• Minimize and to maintain Annual Maintenance Cost less than 85 % of the allotted budget.
• Support in Plan and perform mini or capital Overhauling of unit
• Inventory Plan and Cost effective procurement approach

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

• 8+ Total Years of Experience in Hydro Power Plant Equipment of capacity >50MW
