Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead to take charge of a critical BI migration project, focusing on rationalization and consolidation. The successful candidate will lead a team, manage stakeholders, and make architectural decisions to ensure a successful migration. This role requires expertise in Spotfire and Tableau, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Lead the end-to-end BI migration project, managing timelines, resources, and delivery quality.
  • Conduct a rationalization exercise: assess reports, identify usage patterns, and decide on migration, retirement, or consolidation.
  • Define migration strategy, standards, and best practices for report redevelopment in Tableau.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate the report inventory, optimizing data models.
  • Review and approve data model designs, ensuring they meet Tableau best practices and are scalable.
  • Provide technical guidance, code/design reviews, and quality assurance to senior and developer-level team members.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to validate report requirements and obtain sign-offs on rationalization decisions.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, and escalations throughout the migration process.
  • Establish governance for the new Tableau environment, including folder structure and permissions.
  • Report project progress, risks, and outcomes to senior management and sponsors.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale BI migration projects, especially Spotfire to Tableau migrations.
  • Hands-on expertise in Spotfire and Tableau, including report development, data modeling, and dashboard design.
  • Familiarity with GCP as a data source is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in rationalizing and consolidating BI report inventories.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and the ability to optimize and consolidate data models.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing and mentoring developer teams in BI/analytics projects.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate reports and propose redesign/consolidation strategies.
  • Experience with Tableau Server/Cloud administration and governance is an asset.
  • Familiarity with SQL, ETL processes, and data warehouse/data lake structures is beneficial.
