Your New Role!

We are seeking to appoint either an Associate Lecturer (Level A) or a Lecturer (Level B) in Murdoch University, South Street Campus.

As an Associate Lecturer (Level A), you will contribute to teaching, research and engagement activities within Murdoch University’s Regenerative Tourism program. Working under the guidance of senior academics, you will develop your teaching and research expertise while supporting student success and building connections with industry. This role focuses on supporting the delivery of an innovative and collaborative Regenerative Tourism program, building a track record of scholarship and industry engagement, and raising the profile of the discipline nationally and internationally to support student recruitment and program growth.

As a Lecturer (Level B), you will make an independent contribution to teaching, research and engagement within Murdoch University’s Regenerative Tourism program. You will deliver high-quality learning experiences, undertake impactful research, build industry partnerships, and contribute to the growth and reputation of the discipline. This role has a strong focus on delivering teaching excellence in Regenerative Tourism, establishing a sustained program of scholarship and industry engagement, and developing strategic partnerships that enhance student outcomes, research impact and program growth.

For both roles, expectations are guided by Murdoch University’s Building a Brighter Future Together: Ngala Kwop Biddi strategy and the Academic Career Expectations (ACE) Framework. You will contribute to the University’s priorities in Sustainability, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and First Nations initiatives while demonstrating strong academic citizenship.

Your key responsibilities:

Associate Lecturer (Level A)

  • Support the delivery of high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs in face-to-face, online and blended learning environments
  • Develop learning materials assessments and student-centred learning experiences that enhance student engagement and success
  • Provide academic support, guidance and timely feedback to students
  • Contribute to research and scholarly activities in Regenerative Tourism, including publications, conference presentations and research funding applications
  • Build a growing profile in scholarship and industry engagement within the discipline
  • Engage with industry and professional networks to enhance the visibility and impact of the program
  • Contribute to School and University service, administration and community activities

Lecturer (Level B)

  • Deliver and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across face-to-face, online and blended learning environments
  • Develop innovative curriculum, learning resources and assessments that support student success and academic quality standards
  • Provide academic leadership, student support and effective coordination of teaching activities
  • Conduct independent research and scholarship in Regenerative Tourism, including publications, conference presentations and research funding applications
  • Supervise Honors and postgraduate research students where appropriate
  • Build and maintain strong industry partnerships that support teaching innovation, research collaboration and student recruitment pathways
  • Engage with professional networks and external stakeholders to enhance the reputation and impact of the discipline
  • Contribute to the School and University leadership, service, administration and governance activities

What We Offer You!

This is a Continuous |Full Time (37.5 hours per week) position with the following remuneration:

  • Associate Lecturer: $81,513.00 to $109,925.00 (pro rata) at the Academic Level A plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.
  • Lecturer: $115,512.00– $136,831.00 (pro rata) at the Academic Level B plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Associate Lecturer (Level A)

  • A tertiary qualification of at least four years in the relevant field, or equivalent professional experience recognised by the University
  • A relevant higher degree (such as a doctorate) in an area that contributes meaningfully to the discipline area, or satisfactory progress towards its completion.
  • The capacity to operate in various teaching settings, including the classroom, field trips, and student mobility programs.
  • Willingness to build a profile of scholarship and/or industry engagement that contributes to the program's focus on Regenerative Tourism.
  • Knowledge of student recruitment and/or industry trends that can support recruitment efforts.

Lecturer (Level B)

  • A tertiary qualification of at least four years in the relevant field, or equivalent professional experience recognised by the University.
  • A relevant doctoral qualification (PhD or equivalent) in the discipline, or equivalent professional experience recognised by the University.
  • Maintenance of professional registration or accreditation, where relevant to the discipline or profession.
  • The capacity to operate at a high level in various teaching settings, including the classroom, developing and delivering field trips, and leading student mobility programs.
  • A profile of research and/or industry engagement that contributes to the program's focus on Regenerative Tourism, and the capacity to develop industry partnerships that support student recruitment, particularly from key international markets.
