About the Role

Join our Paramedicine team as an Associate Lecturer (Clinical Facilitator), where you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality work-integrated learning (WIL) experiences that prepare students to become confident, capable and career-ready paramedicine professionals. Working collaboratively with academic staff, healthcare partners and students, you will coordinate and support clinical placements, foster strong industry relationships, and contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical education programs. This position combines student support, stakeholder engagement and quality assurance to ensure meaningful, safe and authentic learning experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinate and support student placements across a range of healthcare and clinical settings, ensuring effective scheduling, compliance, record management and placement administration.
• Monitor and support student learning, clinical competency development and professional progression through coaching, feedback, assessment support and pastoral care.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with healthcare organisations, clinical supervisors and placement providers to enhance placement quality, capacity and student outcomes.
• Contribute to quality assurance, accreditation and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting innovation and excellence in clinical education and work-integrated learning.

About You

You are a passionate and collaborative paramedicine professional with experience supporting student learning in clinical or work-integrated learning environments. You bring strong communication and relationship-building skills, a commitment to student success, and the ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver positive educational outcomes. Organised and proactive, you are comfortable balancing placement coordination, student support and quality assurance activities while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

You will bring:

• A relevant degree qualification and contemporary clinical experience, together with experience in clinical education, supervision or work-integrated learning environments.
• A demonstrated ability to mentor and support students, fostering professional growth, clinical competence and positive learning experiences.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build productive relationships across academia, healthcare organisations and industry.
• Excellent organisational and administrative capabilities, including an understanding of compliance, accreditation, risk management and the use of digital systems to support placement and student management.

Prescribed Conditions for Employment

Appointment to this role is conditional on the completion of required pre-employment checks and declarations, each of which must be satisfactory to the University.

These include:

• Flinders University will require a current completed Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Gender Based Violence Declaration which is satisfactory to the University. The contract of Employment is conditional upon the receipt of these completed compliance checks. A disclosable outcome will not automatically disqualify a candidate from consideration. Each case will be assessed on its individual merits and relevance to the inherent requirements of the role.
• Staff working in a health care setting are strongly recommended to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in line with the SA Health policy.
• It is a requirement of this position that the incumbent maintain a current Working with Children Check which is satisfactory to the University in accordance with the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016 (SA).
