Experienced Electrical Engineer adept at Electrical Design, BOM release, Production and Testing Support for Industrial Machineries and Equipment such as Printing, Packaging, Converting, Textile and Paper machinery and discrete product machinery, related to Aftermarket support and Engineering.

  • Independently executes electrical design work on complex machines — new designs, redesigns, and platform variants — from concept through BOM release.
  • Develops electrical design, drawings and Bill of Materials based on customer requirements and participates in concept, design, production, testing, safety, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting reviews with the customer.
  • Growing ability to advise junior engineers and flag design issues proactively during project execution.

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency in calculation and selection of Motors, Drives, AC Load calculations, and low and medium voltage switchgear systems
  • Experience with low and medium voltage motor control systems (MCC), including solid-state systems
  • Familiarity with industrial control and protection schemes relevant to electrical distribution systems and motor controls
  • Hands-on experience in preparing single and three-line diagrams, panel IGA & OGA drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and design of cable trays and wireways
  • Knowledge of electrical maintenance practices, operation principles, and standards
  • Expertise in major OEM motors, emergency standby generators, uninterruptable power supplies, motor controls, generator controls, transformers, and protective relays
  • Understanding of materials, components, and equipment used in electrical installations
  • Familiarity with NFPA70E and OSHA regulations related to electrical safety practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of UL508A, IEC, NEMA, British (BS), European, IS, NEC, IEEE, and other standards
  • Experience in designing and testing Safety Interlocks in compliance with safety standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical / Zuken E3, including creating symbols, assigning metadata, creating macros, 3D macros, and drilling patterns
  • Experience in heating & cooling calculations
  • Experience in R&D projects, Aftermarket/Sold work support for machines, drives, control panels
  • Experience in field service support and control panel assembly
  • Experience in creating Hydraulic / Pneumatic schematics
  • Capability in creating and updating functional specifications of machines and replacing obsolete electrical parts while maintaining design integrity
  • Experience in replacement of obsolete electrical parts while maintaining Form, Fit and Function of the existing machine design
  • Experience in performing risk assessments and preparing drawings and SRS documents
  • Knowledge of AB/B&R PLC programming and troubleshooting, HMI programming (SmartTouch/Ignition) is an added advantage, not mandatory

Mandatory Tool Skills:

  • AutoCAD
  • AdeptE/PromiseE
  • AutoCAD Electrical
  • Zuken E3 – added advantage
  • MS Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Industrial Machineries/Equipment and discrete product machinery
  • Experience with Printing, Packaging and Converting Machines OEMs is preferable
  • Experience in field commissioning and trouble shooting

Travel:

  • May need to travel up to 10% each year based on requirements.

Key Result Areas:

  • Ability to study and understand existing machine functions
  • Ability to learn old legacy tools and old schematics and provide upgrade modifications
  • Excellent CAD tool skills, experienced in using electrical CAD software
  • Good documentation preparation and maintenance skills
  • Effort and schedule adherence with error-free deliverables, requiring limited oversight to deliver results
  • Good problem-solving skills with technical issues in machine function
  • Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Growing ability to advise and mentor less experienced engineers on technical problems
