Marathon Petroleum Company’s Illinois Refining Division in Robinson, IL is seeking an Inspector.TheInspectorwill report to theArea Inspection Managerand willdevelop and execute inspection plans/life cycle management for refining equipment based on service, design, condition, jurisdictionalrequirementsand more.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and executes inspection plans/life cycle management for refining equipment based on service, design, condition, jurisdictional requirements, temporary repairs and equipment replacements, Turnaround (TAR) dates, and inspection history. Prioritizes and plansworkwithin the respective assigned area team.
Documents inspection records, findings, and recommendations in Marathon’s Inspection Data Management System (IDMS). Completes all required documentation and interprets and applies industry and Recognized and Generally
Accepted Good Engineering Practice (RAGAGEP) codes and specifications. Develops, revises, andmaintainscomprehensive inspection procedures, applicable guidelines, and work instructions.
Reviews and applies Management of Change (MOC) requirements and ensures all Process Safety Management (PSM) elements are implemented.
Generates inspection requirements for projects within assigned units or areas and coordinates inspection requirements for larger-scale projects in collaboration with Operations, Engineering and Maintenance, and Reliability departments.
Coordinates services of contract inspectors/non-destructive examination technicians.
Understands critical process variables that affect equipment reliability,identifiesgaps, andleads gapclosure effort. Generates and provides repair/upgrade/modification recommendations based on findings, options, and risk assessments in conjunction with management, Operations, and Maintenance.
Provides oversight for and facilitates quality assurance program by auditing site’s work in areas such as, but not limited to: DOT covered equipment, non-destructive examination (NDE), visual inspection, data lifecycle analysis of IDMS output, PMI, welding procedures, heat treatment, QA/QC required for projects, and equipment replacement.
May lead and drive continuous improvement in inspection-related programs as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum (Required) Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license
Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications
Five (5)+years of field experience
API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspectioncertification
API 570 Piping Inspectioncertification
API 653 Tank Inspectioncertification
NBIC IS commission and NBIC R endorsement
AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification, VT level 2
AWS-CWI
Experience with GE’s Asset Performance Management (APM)
API 571, API 936, or other API certifications
