The Melting Associate, under the direction of the Production Supervisor, is responsible for all functions and record keeping involved in packaging and pallet removal processes and melting activities for Liquor and Butter while adhering to all GMP and HACCP operating procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Control cocoa liquor and cocoa butter inventory for melting through physical counting and SAP transactions
  • Register on MES all melting activity once it is completed, verify inventory in liquor and butter tanks and its accuracy
  • Responsible for movement of pallets using forklift
  • Manual removal of packaging (boxes and plastic bags) and proper disposal
  • Manual dumping of blocks of liquor and/or butter into melting equipment
  • 1 MT blocks feeding into the melter using the clamp forklift
  • Manual recordkeeping and system (MES/SAP) validation.
  • Complete CCP certification for the melting operations
  • Monitors and clean magnets, filter and vibratory sieve screen
  • Keep area clean and adhere to all GMPs
  • Must promote a safe working environment and good GMP’s
  • Committed to providing a safe food product
  • Works within all regulatory requirements
  • Perform all other related duties as requested

About you:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent,
  • Computer experience a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted on a continual basis
  • Certified BC forklift operator
  • Must be able to work in a hot environment and move freely around the building
  • Available to work Thursday - Saturday 6am - 6pm, and every other Wednesday 6am-6pm
