We are seeking a detail oriented professional to join our Global Payment Services (GPS) team as an Associate in our operations group. Global Payment Services (GPS) is responsible for the accurate, timely, and secure processing of all payments across MUFG Investor Services, with teams located in Kuala Lumpur, Limassol, Dublin, Halifax, and Toronto that collaboratively manage the end to end payment lifecycle on a global scale.-oriented professional to join our Global Payment Services (GPS) team as an Associate in our operations group. Global Payment Services (GPS) is responsible for the accurate, timely, and secure processing of all payments across MUFG Investor Services, with teams located in Kuala Lumpur, Limassol, Dublin, Halifax, and Toronto that collaboratively manage the end-to-end payment lifecycle on a global scale.

The Associate plays a key role in the daily execution of payment processing activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong adherence to control requirements. This role supports operational stability, follows established procedures, and contributes to maintaining a high quality client experience across GPS operations.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Execution

  • Accurately input and process payments across banking systems in accordance with procedures, control standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Follow required control steps including maker checker, LOA verification, callback procedures, and proper recordkeeping.
  • Investigate and resolve basic payment discrepancies, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Liaise with clients, investment managers, fund service providers, and internal teams to support timely and accurate payment execution.
  • Track and process client related invoices, fees, or other payment obligations where applicable.
  • Ensure tasks and queries are completed within internal SLAs and service expectations.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

  • Work closely with Treasury, Banking Operations, and Client Operations to support accurate end to end payment processing.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally during handovers and updates to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal and external partners to support smooth operational delivery.

Risk & Controls

  • Adhere to internal policies, operational controls, and regulatory expectations related to payment processing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support audit readiness.
  • Escalate potential control issues or risks promptly to senior team members.

Continuous Improvement & Documentation

  • Participate in system improvement initiatives, UAT cycles, and process enhancement discussions as required.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify tasks, reduce errors, or improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure procedures, checklists, and documentation remain accurate and up to date.
  • Support audit requests, compliance reviews, and other operational deliverables.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel proficiency is an asset.
  • Foundational understanding of global payment processes and familiarity with online banking or payment platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of SWIFT payment processing, formatting, and field definitions (MX experience beneficial).

  • Strong problem-solving capability with the ability to identify and escalate issues promptly.
  • Ability to support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to documentation updates.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and a strong focus on delivering high quality operational outcomes.
