Digital Asset is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its legal team at a pivotal moment for the company and the broader financial ecosystem. This high-impact role offers broad exposure across commercial transactions, M&A, securities, product and regulatory counseling, and general corporate matters, supporting the company’s mission to create the world’s most trusted, privacy-enabled, and interoperable digital infrastructure for global finance.
As the first Associate General Counsel, you will work directly with executive leadership and the board, shaping the legal function as Digital Asset scales rapidly. Responsibilities include leading contract negotiations for high-value agreements, building scalable contract infrastructure, supporting M&A activity, managing strategic investments, and handling a wide range of corporate governance and regulatory matters. The role also involves serving as a legal partner to multiple business functions, resolving diverse legal issues, and mentoring non-legal teams on risk frameworks and legal processes.
The ideal candidate brings a JD from a top-tier law school, active New York bar admission (or eligibility to waive in), and 4-8 years of experience as a corporate associate at a leading law firm or as in-house counsel at a Fortune 500, high-growth crypto, technology, or fintech company. Direct experience with M&A transactions, regulatory filings, and complex contract negotiations is essential. A generalist mindset, entrepreneurial energy, and genuine interest in financial technology—including blockchain and on-chain capital markets—are key to success in this role.
