About ING Food, Beverage & Agribusiness team (“FB&A”):

The Food, Beverage & Agribusiness (“FB&A”) team is part of ING Sector Coverage and has a strong global presence, with teams serving clients from 6 dedicated locations globally. The FB&A team covers the full spectrum of the food chain incl. farm inputs, grains, animal protein, dairy, sugar, ingredients, snacks, beverages, biofuels and packaged foods. Our clients are Americas headquartered companies and primary focus is on leading local lending transactions and managing and expanding global relationships with these companies offering the complete suite of ING corporate banking and treasury products across our international network.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

New Deal Origination/Execution Support: Support MDs, Directors and VPs in the FB&A Team in the day-to-day origination, structuring and execution of new food, beverage & agri transactions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing marketing presentations, commercial plans, internal approval memos, credit, industry & market analysis and debt financing models and supporting in due diligence and structuring as well as work related to and actual attendance of client meetings and calls. Additional work will include collaborating and supporting capital structuring, acquisition financing, and other cross-sell product partners in the food, beverage and agribusiness sector among other opportunities.

  • Performing due diligence and preparing presentation materials for new financing opportunities, capital structuring or M&A transactions in the FB&A sector, assisting in the maintenance of industry and market intelligence databases
  • Prepare pitches, briefing notes, and marketing materials for client meetings and new commercial opportunities
  • New deal origination support: identify and drive cross-sell opportunities from product and client conversations
  • Reviewing financing documents and reporting; liaise with internal and external legal counsels.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and contribute strategic insights for the development of ING’s business
  • New Deal Origination/Execution Support: support MDs, Directors and VPs in the FB&A Team in the origination of new clients and portfolio expansion.

Requisite Skill Set:

  • Strong academic track record with Undergraduate or Masters from top school
  • Strong credit analysis background, basic knowledge of credit structuring preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be highly detail-oriented
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint): Must have outstanding Excel skills and be able to build financial debt models very soon after starting.
  • Fundamental understanding of GAAP accounting principles and comfort with core financial statements (Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement and Balance Sheet).
  • Fundamental understanding of key financial markets and products.
  • Basic understanding of Loan documentation as well as corporate and bankruptcy law
  • Team Player, self-motivated high quality/high quantity producer

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or industry related field (Biology, Animal Science).
  • References
  • Experience: 4-5 years of relevant project/corporate finance experience, ideally in the Food, Beverage & Agribusiness industry
  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Series 79/63 preferred but not required

Salary Range: $130,000 - $165,000

The salary range listed reflects base salary only. This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
