Are you passionate about building reliable, safety-critical avionics systems? Collins Aerospace is looking for a System Engineer to join our Commercial Displays team. In this role, you will contribute to the verification and validation of advanced avionics display systems, ensuring compliance with aerospace certification standards while working alongside global engineering teams.

You will be involved throughout the Systems Engineering V-Cycle, supporting requirements analysis, system integration, verification, validation, and certification activities that enable the next generation of intelligent cockpit display solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Support system engineering activities throughout the Systems Engineering V-Cycle
  • Perform system verification and validation activities, including:
    • Unit Testing
    • Subsystem Integration Testing
    • System Integration Testing
    • Regression Testing
    • Inspection and Analysis
  • Verify system features, applications, and functionality at the system level.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, requirements capture, and requirements definition.
  • Support system integration and formal verification activities to ensure compliance with customer and certification requirements.
  • Develop system verification test cases, procedures, and supporting certification artifacts.
  • Ensure compliance with ARP4754 and ARP4761 system engineering standards.
  • Understand software and hardware interfaces and validate system interactions.
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and potential issues while proactively driving mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to achieve project milestones.
  • Participate in technical discussions, customer interactions, presentations, and engineering reviews.

What We Prefer

  • Experience working in the Aerospace or Avionics domain, preferably Commercial Displays.
  • Knowledge of ARP4754 and ARP4761 development processes.
  • Familiarity with DOORS and JIRA for requirements and project management.
  • Exposure to C, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
  • Experience supporting system verification and validation activities.
  • Knowledge of software/system integration testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech) or a related STEM discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety-critical engineering environment, preferably Avionics Displays.
  • Experience in System Verification and Validation following ARP guidelines.
  • Familiarity with DOORS and JIRA
  • Understanding of:
    • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
    • Agile methodologies
    • Configuration Management
    • Change Control Processes
  • Working knowledge of C, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
  • Understanding of High-Level and Low-Level Software Requirements.
  • Ability to develop system verification test cases and test procedures.
  • Knowledge of system certification documentation.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in Commercial Displays or other Avionics systems.
  • Knowledge of aircraft system architecture and hardware/software integration.
  • Familiarity with aerospace certification processes and regulatory standards.
  • Experience with model-based system engineering concepts.
  • Exposure to requirements traceability and verification tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global engineering environment.
