The Boeing Company is seeking an Associate Engineering Technical Specialistto join our Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team in Seattle, WA to develop solutions to problems that require innovation while working according to established guidelines in the Metrology and Test Equipment Services (MATES) Infrastructure Organization.
The candidate should be able to apply their knowledge and experience to proactively monitoring and maintaining authoritative data across Boeing applications such as Common Metrology Information System (CMIS), or Strategic Inventory Management Online (SIMON). The candidate finds outdated or inconsistent records, evaluates the impact of every change, and updates information to meet structured application standards. Performs as a system administer and evaluates data for troubleshooting issues, completeness and accuracy. Collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data and summarize findings. Then develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources. Standardize data mining for commonly used data using queries and providing results to end users. Provides reports to leaders for case studies as requested. From documenting clear requirements for technical teams to creating user-friendly tip sheets and guides, and validating system enhancements through rigorous testing, the Engineering Technical Specialist ensures changes are ready, reliable, and deliver real value to end users.
Position Responsibilities:
Provides configuration management, coordinates changes, performs assessments of compliance and manages the implementation of product standards across company business units and programs
Performs data mining and evaluation to various criteria and provides summary of results for the end users
Standardize data mining for commonly used data using queries and providing results to end users
Develops, documents, implements, provides consultation on the application of, and ensures compliance with, requirements for use of engineering tools, processes and standards
Provides training and assistance in the utilization of processes and tools and supports the integration of engineering designs
Ensures regulatory requirements are met
Identifies and validates user access roles, produces tip sheets and understands system interoperability
Collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
Develops, maintains and distributes engineering documents, reports and correspondence to enable business activity
Collects, analyzes and validates engineering performance metrics and coordinates organizational requirements to support business needs
Works under general direction
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform majority of work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data, then summarizing findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
Experience with Microsoft Excel to process tabular data
Ability to document training instructions and user guides
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
2+ years of experience with Common Metrology Information System (CMIS), or Strategic Inventory Management Online (SIMON)
Familiarity with data architecture, and data warehouse concepts
Good stakeholder management and communication skills
Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and delivering projects on schedule
Experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or experience in a regulated industry
