About This Opportunity
Join our network operations team as a VAS Operations Engineer, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous availability and performance of Value-Added Services across a live mobile network environment. You will work within a skilled, multi-vendor operations team, managing and supporting a wide range of VAS platforms including messaging, charging, broadcast, and policy control systems. This is a technically demanding and rewarding role for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, 24/7 operations environment and takes pride in keeping mission-critical services running seamlessly for millions of subscribers.
You Will Bring
• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a System Engineer in a mobile network environment
• Strong working knowledge of GSM (2G/3G/4G) network technologies and TCP/IP fundamentals
• Solid understanding of signaling protocols — SS7, SIGTRAN, SCCP, SCTP, RADIUS, and Diameter
• Practical experience with VAS platforms including SMSC, MMSC, MCA, PCRF, SMS Firewall, Prepaid Charging, Rating, and Broadcast systems
• Proficiency in Linux OS (including Solaris), IP networking, and provisioning systems
• Familiarity with call flows for Charging systems, SMS/MMS/MCA, SMS Firewall, and Broadcast services
• Multi-vendor exposure across platforms such as Ericsson, Mavenir, Mobileum, Nokia, and HP
• Awareness of ITIL processes including incident management, change management, problem management, and security management
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage
• A proactive, self-motivated mindset with the ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to shifting priorities
What Will You Do
• Monitor, operate, and maintain VAS nodes to ensure maximum service availability across the network
• Administer VAS and support systems including SMSC, MMSC, MCA, PCRF, Prepaid Charging, Rating, and Broadcast platforms
• Handle alarm monitoring, first-level fault analysis, and escalation management
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including routine health checks and system backups
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and configuration issues, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) where required
• Manage and report on outages and emergency incidents in a timely and accurate manner
• Conduct performance analysis and investigations to proactively identify and address service degradation
• Coordinate and interface with customers, third-party vendors, and internal Ericsson departments for issue resolution and project handovers
• Ensure smooth and quality service handover from project teams into live operations
• Adhere strictly to ITIL processes across all operational activities
• Work on a 24x7 shift rotation as per project requirements
Key Qualifications
• Education: BE / B.Tech, BCA, or MCA in a relevant engineering or technology discipline
• Experience: Minimum 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in a large-scale technical operations environment with direct customer service exposure
• Technical Skills: GSM/2G/3G/4G, SS7, SIGTRAN, TCP/IP, SCCP, SCTP, RADIUS, Diameter, Linux/Solaris OS, PCRF, SMSC, MMSC, MCA, SMS Firewall, Provisioning Systems
• Vendor Knowledge: Demonstrated experience working across multi-vendor environments — Ericsson, Mavenir, Mobileum, Nokia, HP
