The Test Product Engineer (TPE) is responsible for supporting manufacturing by ensuring continuous production, maintaining test hardware and systems, and driving improvements in quality, yield, cycle time, and cost. The role involves troubleshooting and root cause analysis of test-related issues, implementing improvement initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet production and business objectives. The TPE also contributes to workforce development, project execution, and documentation to support efficient and reliable manufacturing operations.
The TPE must possess the following skills:
Has good knowledge of Basic Electronics, Engineering Practices, and Procedures.
Knowledge in Wafer and IC Package Level testing or expertise in one of these areas is an advantage but not required.
Knowledgeable in software programming and hardware architecture.
Knowledgeable in Maxim’s commonly used production handler and wafer probe machines.
Has the ability to recruit and hire entry-level personnel for test production engineering positions.
Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrate root cause analysis skills.
1. Test Production Engineering Support in Manufacturing
Ensure continuous production of products under his/her group’s responsibility
Ensure that hardware and KGU is well maintained, and all product test setup requirements are well documented
Improve product test performance in manufacturing
Improve QA PPM level and yield outliers in manufacturing
2. Quality Improvement
Initiate, drive and monitor QA PPM related projects, and ensure project completion in a timely manner
Ensure QA failure-related issues are addressed immediately
3. Yield Improvement
Ensure yield-related issues are addressed immediately
Initiate, drive and monitor Yield Improvement projects, and ensure project completion in a timely manner
4. Cycle Time Reduction
Initiate, drive and monitor Single Pass Flow Evaluations and ensure project completion in a timely manner
Initiate, drive and monitor Test Time Reduction projects and ensure project completion in a timely manner
Initiate and drive in releasing and monitoring of hold lots with HW/Interface issues in 2 days
5. Cost Reduction
Initiate, drive and monitor Cost Reduction projects and ensure project completion in a timely manner
6. Workforce and Communication
Generate quarterly goals and ensure these goals are achieved
Attend weekly meetings with the group and counterparts
Update and maintain the Project List and submit it to Supervisors for evaluation with respect to prioritization
Generate reports periodically as needed
Support other groups/departments as needed
7. Training, Special Projects, and Others
Ensure engineers are competent enough and are certified on certain qualifications
Initiate, drive and monitor special projects for the group, and ensure project completion in a timely manner
Learn ADI's commonly used production handler and wafer probe machines
Perform other duties assigned by the Management
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE), or Computer Engineering (ComEng)
0–2 years of relevant experience
