To contribute collaboratively within a Digital squad to deliverhigh‑quality,customer‑focuseddigital experiences by performinghands‑onengineering, following modern best practices, and supporting ongoing improvement, while actively engaging in continuous learning to strengthen technical capability.
As an AssociateEngineer in the Digital team, you willcollaborate tocontributewithin your squad.You’llwork alongsideother Engineers, Designers, Architects, Craft Specialists, Principal Engineers, and key stakeholders around the bank to ensure we:
Deliver amazing new digital experiences for our customers
Build in-line with modern best practices
Comply withour standards and policies
Avoid technical debt
Support and role model agreed work practices
Contribute to sprint goals that align with delivery, customer, and strategic objectives
This role is primarily focused on hands-on engineering, collaboration, and technical excellence. You will contribute to shaping the technical direction of your squad and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Team Contribution
Assistin code reviews and ensure adherence to software engineering best practices
Engage in discussions to understand requirements and contribute to technical solutions with guidance from senior engineers
Design, develop, and test new product features with support from senior engineers, aiming to minimisebugs
Activelyparticipatein Agile software development practices, including sprint planning and retrospectives
Create, review, andmaintaintechnical documentation
Technical Expertise
Assistin conducting POCs to research andidentifyoptimalsolutions
Gain experience with tools like Jira and Confluence
Assistin troubleshooting and resolving production incidents under the guidance of senior engineers
Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders, incorporating feedback to improve solutions,participatein Unit Testing
Engage in continuous learning and development to enhance technical skills andknowledge andactively seek opportunities for professional growth
Uses existingeducation and skills to perform basiccoding inallocatedapplication or domain
Uses approved AI tools responsibly for learning support,validatingoutputsandcomplying withdata, privacy, and security standards
Planning and Collaboration
Work collaboratively with the team and stakeholders, incorporating feedback when appropriate
Demonstrate passion and energy to encourage enthusiasm among the team in bringing projects to life
