Associate Engineer- Mechanical
Job Title : Associate Engineer Mechanical
Department : Global MCAD
Reports to : Team Lead/Sr. Manager – Engineering
The Associate Engineer will support the design and development of HVAC/Power. This role involves assisting in 3D modelling, BOM preparation, and participation in NPDI activities while building strong fundamentals in product design and engineering processes.
of Essential Duties:
- To work in engineering design support activities for CAD migration, NPD, VAVE, and improvement projects.
- Independently execute CAD conversion activities from Solid Edge to Creo, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Develop and rebuild 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings in Creo using standard templates and best practices.
- Apply and maintain material properties, part descriptions, naming conventions, and design parameters as per company standards.
- Create and manage engineering drawings, ensuring completeness and manufacturing readiness.
- Generate and maintain part numbers as per standard coding system and ensure proper structure definition.
- Build and validate assembly structures and BOMs in Creo, ensuring alignment with product hierarchy.
- Upload and manage CAD data, drawings, and BOMs in Agile PLM system with complete and accurate attributes.
- Publish and synchronize product data in PD Cloud environment, ensuring consistency between CAD and PLM systems.
- Ensure all required attributes are filled in PLM, including:
- Material details
- Classification data
- Lifecycle and compliance information
- Create and maintain AML (Approved Manufacturer List) information and ensure sourcing data completeness.
- Support engineering change processes (ECO/ECN) and maintain revision control and configuration management.
- Coordinate with design, manufacturing, sourcing, and PLM teams to resolve data and design issues.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, data quality requirements, and release processes.

Required Competency:
- Minimum Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering with relevant exposure to design environment.
- 1-3 years of experience on Creo platform in Sheet metal domain is a must.
- Working experience in 3D modelling and detailing work on Creo with experience on generating Bills of Materials.
- Exposure in Sheet Metal domain will be advantageous.
- Working experience on any PLM tools. Agile or PD cloud will be added advantage.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication process will be an added advantage.
- Strong learning attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team environment.
- Good Interpersonal skills & ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
- Experience in handling large CAD assemblies in CREO and managing modifications as required.
