Participation in planning and execution of transmission software and calibration development and validation. Optimization of electronic transmission controls to improve drivability, performance, and fuel economy for end-user applications. Integration of the transmission within the engine and vehicle system. Key contributions may involve designing tests, performing validation activities, analyzing data, summarizing and reporting results, and collaborating with customers and OEM's.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and validation of transmission software and calibration in support of upcoming releases/updates
  • Testing and data collection using commercial vehicles and hardware-in-the-loop simulators
  • Integration of the transmission within the engine/vehicle system
  • Optimization of electronic transmission controls to improve drivability, performance, and fuel economy for different end-user applications

Key Performance Measures:

  • Development and validation of software/cal content leading to transmission controls releases
  • Vehicle-level transmission hardware validation activities completed thoroughly and on schedule
  • Thorough and organized documentation of test results
  • Interaction analysis and data analysis completed when necessary
  • Appropriate decision making and risk analysis

Competencies and Behaviors:

  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to manage risk and deal with ambiguity
  • Ability to switch between tasks quickly and effectively
  • Good at prioritizing work

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in written and spoken business communication skills
  • Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License

Experience:

  • 0-2 years of relevant automotive or commercial vehicle industry engineering experience
  • Experience in Control System engineering and/or test, including experience with real-time embedded electronic control systems
  • Experience with data analysis and tools
