Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring an Associate Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer in Layton, UT. We design, sustain, and upgrade next generation electronics concepts, and we support production and special test equipment design for increasing capacity requirements. Our involvement is ongoing today and will continue into the distant future. Come join us in our legacy and continuing to support our national defense.

Position Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing designs, troubleshoot issues with current designs, and propose solutions to return units to a functional state
• Maintain detailed requirements and specifications for various electronic products
• Develop detailed designs of limited scope
• Conduct various methods of testing and analysis to support design
• Gather data for technical performance measures and perform basic analysis
• Provide basic engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product
• Conduct trade studies and literature research to support future product designs

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 2+ years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education
• Experience utilizing lab electronic testing tools (Digital Multimeters (DMM), Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Function Generators, etc.)
• Experience troubleshooting electrical issues
• Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

• Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems. The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables
• Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or computer engineering
• Experience developing and debugging low-level hardware or firmware drivers for embedded microcontrollers
• Experience designing, testing, and integrating a digital circuit card assembly (CCA)
• Experience performing circuit analysis in SPICE or similar tools such as LTSpice
• Experience using Siemens (formally Mentor Graphics)
• Experience using Electrical Design Automation (EDA) tools such as Mentor Graphics, Altium, or PSPICE to perform schematic capture, PCB design, PCB layout, and circuit simulation

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range:

$91,800-$124,200
