Job Title: Driver

Location: Birmingham CLC

Summary of Role

We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely collection and delivery of products, materials, and medical samples while ensuring compliance with transport regulations and company procedures. You will play an important part in maintaining service excellence and supporting the continuity of critical healthcare operations.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled pickup and delivery activities in line with service requirements.
• Verify shipment details and ensure accurate transportation documentation.
• Obtain required signatures and proof of delivery.
• Transport products, materials, and medical samples safely and securely.
• Communicate delivery updates, delays, and shipment exceptions promptly.
• Support loading, unloading, packaging, and labelling activities.
• Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance requirements.
• Assist with specialist transport services, including transfer-point, airport, hand-to-hand, and adjusted schedule deliveries as required.

Skills and Knowledge

• Full, valid driving licence with a safe driving record.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to follow route plans and delivery schedules accurately.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail when handling documentation and shipment records.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
• Understanding of transport, safety, and compliance requirements.
• Basic IT skills for recording and reporting delivery information.

Desirable

• Previous experience in a delivery, transport, or logistics role.
• Experience handling healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical products.
• Knowledge of temperature-controlled transportation procedures.
• Familiarity with proof of delivery and transport tracking systems.
• Experience working within a regulated environment.
• Understanding of packaging and shipment handling best practices.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and operational requirements.
• Experience supporting specialist or time-critical delivery services.

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. Less than 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, courier operations, delivery services, or a related field required. Certification in dangerous goods awareness, licensure in operation of the applicable vehicle class, cold chain handling, or equivalent required.
